Aquaponics, the beauty, effectiveness, efficiency, high yield, endless benefits Vol 2

Hey everyone, my little visit to that big wonderful aquaponics system and exclusive restaurant was just too big to fit on a blog so I split it up into three. This is the second Volume.

Herbs in a DWC below, just thriving..

More herbs, thriving as they do in aquaponics systems.

As with any farming naturally you will get pests. Aphids, moths etc. One of the safest way of controlling them (no poison or pesticides in aquaponics) are sticky strips as in the below pic.

I was very surprised to be told that they have tilapia in these waters all year round. The weather can get very cold in pretoria in the minuses even and tilapia are a tropical/warm water fish. Upon further investigation I saw solar heating pipes installed on the roof. Economical, efficient, cheap energy. Brilliant. Problem solved!
